ORKA DEAD HANG CHALLENGE
Official Rules & Guidelines
The ORKA Dead Hang Challenge is a Time Count Competition conducted through verified mobile video submission. All participants must strictly follow the official rules below to ensure fair play, accurate timing, and global standardization.
1. Eligibility
- Open to athletes worldwide.
- Age Categories: U14, U18, Open, 35+ (as per season structure).
- Separate Male & Female divisions in all categories.
- Athlete must complete official registration before submitting performance.
2. Equipment Requirements
- Standard fixed pull-up bar (stable and safe).
- Bar must support full body weight.
- No moving bars or assisted machines allowed.
- Chalk is allowed.
- Lifting straps, hooks, gloves with grip assistance, or any mechanical support are strictly prohibited.
3. Camera & Video Setup
- Full body must be visible from head to feet.
- Pull-up bar and hands must be clearly visible.
- Timer must be visible on screen (mobile stopwatch or second device).
- Video must be continuous with no edits, cuts, zooms, or slow motion.
- Clear lighting is mandatory.
4. Starting Position
- Athlete must grip the bar with both hands.
- Arms fully extended (elbows locked).
- Feet completely off the ground.
- Body must remain in a controlled hanging position.
Timer starts when:
- Both feet leave the ground
- Arms are fully extended
5. Valid Hang Criteria
The hang remains valid if:
- Both hands stay on the bar.
- Arms remain extended (no chin over bar or pull-up movement).
- Feet do not touch ground or any object.
- No external support is used.
- No resting elbows on bar or hooking legs.
6. Disqualification / Timer Stops When:
- Any hand releases the bar.
- Feet touch the ground or external object.
- Excessive swinging occurs (judges’ discretion).
- Chin clearly rises above the bar for support.
- Grip assistance equipment is detected.
- Video quality prevents proper verification.
The timer stops immediately upon first violation.
7. Body Movement Rules
- Natural minimal swinging is allowed.
- Kipping, hooking legs, or using bar contact for leverage is prohibited.
- One grip style must be maintained (overhand, underhand, or mixed grip allowed, but no switching during attempt).
8. Submission Rules
- Only one official submission per ranking cycle (unless weekly re-submission is allowed).
- Video must be uploaded within the official submission window.
- Athlete’s face must be visible for identity verification.
ORKA reserves the right to request a re-submission if clarity is insufficient.
9. Ranking System
After verification, athletes are placed into live leaderboards based on:
- Age Category
- Gender Category
- National Ranking
- World Ranking
Rankings update dynamically as performances are approved.
10. Tie-Breaking Policy
If two athletes record identical times:
- 1. Earlier verified submission ranks higher
- 2. If still tied, an additional verification round may be announced
11. Fair Play Policy
Strict zero-tolerance policy for:
- Edited or manipulated videos
- False identity
- Equipment violations
Violation may result in:
- Disqualification
- Removal from leaderboard
- Temporary or permanent ban
12. Safety Disclaimer
Participants must:
- Use a secure and stable bar
- Warm up properly before attempting
- Avoid unsafe heights or unstable installations
- Consult a medical professional if required
ORKA is not responsible for injuries caused by unsafe execution or improper setup.
