Official Rules & Guidelines
The ORKA Push-Up Challenge is a rep-based international competition designed to test upper-body strength, endurance, and technical discipline. All participants must strictly follow the official rules below to ensure fair play, accurate verification, and eligibility for rankings, medals, and prize money.
1. Eligibility & Categories
Participants must register under the correct division:
- Age Categories: U14, U18, Open, 35+
- Gender Categories: Male & Female in each age group
Providing incorrect age or gender information may result in disqualification.
2. Equipment & Setup Requirements
To maintain global consistency:
- Flat and stable surface required
- Exercise mat allowed
- Standard athletic attire required
- Athletic shoes allowed (barefoot also permitted)
- No supportive gear that enhances performance
- A clearly visible timer must appear in the video
- Full body must remain visible throughout the attempt
No external assistance is permitted.
3. Official Push-Up Standard (Strict Form)
Each push-up must meet the following criteria:
- 1. Start in a full plank position (arms extended, body straight)
- 2. Lower body until chest reaches near floor level (or lightly touches ground if required)
- 3. Elbows must bend to approximately 90 degrees or more
- 4. Body must remain straight (no sagging hips or raised hips)
- 5. Return to full arm extension (elbows locked out)
Only full-range push-ups with proper lockout will be counted.
Half reps or incomplete extension will not count.
4. Time Format
- Official duration (for example: 60 seconds or 2 minutes) will be announced before competition.
- Athletes must complete maximum valid reps within the time limit.
- Timer must remain visible throughout the video.
5. Start & End Rules
Start:
Timer begins when athlete initiates first downward push-up movement.
End:
Time stops when official time expires.
Reps not fully completed before buzzer will not count.
6. Rep Validation & Common Faults
Reps may be rejected for:
- Incomplete chest depth
- No full arm lockout
- Hips sagging or excessively raised
- Knees touching the ground (unless modified category is officially allowed)
- Excessive pause at bottom
Final rep count is determined after official video verification.
7. Video Submission Guidelines
To qualify for ranking:
- Full body must be clearly visible
- Timer must be visible throughout
- Video must be continuous (no cuts or edits)
- Camera angle must clearly show elbow bend and lockout
- Proper lighting required
Edited or unclear videos will be rejected.
8. Attempts Policy
- Multiple attempts allowed during competition window
- Only best verified score appears on leaderboard
- Weekly progress tracking available for registered athletes
9. Verification & Live Ranking System
After verification, performance updates instantly across:
- Age Category Ranking
- Gender Ranking
- National Ranking
- World Ranking
Only verified scores qualify for medals and prize distribution.
10. Disqualification Rules
Participants may be disqualified for:
- Edited or manipulated videos
- False category declaration
- Incomplete reps intentionally counted
- External assistance
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
ORKA maintains strict fair-play standards to protect international credibility.
Awards & Recognition
- Top 3 athletes in each division receive official medals
- Prize money distributed according to official structure
- All verified participants receive digital participation certificates
