ORKA SIT UPS CHALLENGE
Official Rules & Guidelines
The ORKA Sit-Ups Challenge is a Rep Count Competition conducted through verified mobile video submission. All participants must strictly follow the official rules to ensure fair competition, accurate scoring, and global standardization.
1. Eligibility
- Open to athletes worldwide.
- Age Categories: U14, U18, Open, 35+ (as per season structure).
- Separate Male & Female divisions in all categories.
- Athlete must complete official registration before submitting performance.
2. Equipment & Setup Requirements
- Flat surface required.
- Exercise mat allowed.
- Timer must be clearly visible on screen (mobile stopwatch or second device).
- Full body must remain visible throughout the video.
- Feet may be:
- Unanchored
- Anchored by a partner (feet only, no pulling assistance)
- Placed under a stable object
No mechanical assistance devices allowed.
3. Official Sit-Up Standard
Each repetition must follow strict form:
1. Starting Position
- Athlete lies on back.
- Knees bent (approximately 90 degrees).
- Feet flat on ground.
- Fingers touching temples OR arms crossed on chest (must remain consistent).
2. Upward Movement
- Torso must rise until elbows touch knees (or chest touches thighs if arms crossed).
3. Downward Movement
- Shoulder blades must clearly touch the floor before beginning next repetition.
Only full-range sit-ups will count.
4. Time Format
- Official time limit (e.g., 60 seconds or 2 minutes) will be announced before competition.
- Athlete must complete maximum valid repetitions within the time frame.
- Repetitions not fully completed before time expires will not count.
5. Valid Rep Criteria
A repetition counts only if:
- Elbows reach knees (or chest reaches thighs).
- Shoulder blades touch floor at bottom.
- Movement is continuous and controlled.
Partial reps, bouncing, or incomplete extension will not count.
6. Disqualification / Rep Rejection
Reps may be rejected for:
- Hands leaving declared position
- Hips lifting excessively
- Incomplete top position
- Shoulders not touching floor
- Excessive bouncing for momentum
- Video cuts or editing
7. Video Submission Rules
- Continuous unedited recording.
- Clear lighting required.
- Full body visible at all times.
- Timer clearly visible.
- Face visible for identity verification.
ORKA reserves the right to reject unclear or suspicious videos.
8. Attempts Policy
- One official submission per ranking cycle (unless weekly resubmission allowed).
- If multiple attempts are allowed, only best verified score appears on leaderboard.
9. Ranking System
Once verified, performances are ranked in:
- Age Category Leaderboard
- Gender Division Leaderboard
- National Ranking
- World Ranking
Rankings update dynamically as new performances are approved.
10. Tie-Breaking Policy
If two athletes record identical rep counts:
- 1. Earlier verified submission ranks higher
- 2. Additional tie-break round may be announced if required
11. Fair Play Policy
Strict zero tolerance for:
- Edited or manipulated videos
- False age or identity
- External assistance beyond allowed support
Violation may result in disqualification and possible suspension.
12. Safety Guidelines
Participants must:
- Warm up properly
- Avoid slippery surfaces
- Maintain controlled movement
- Stop immediately if experiencing pain
ORKA is not responsible for injuries caused by improper execution.
The ORKA Sit-Ups Challenge rewards discipline, endurance, and technical accuracy. Follow the rules carefully, submit your strongest performance, and climb the national and global rankings with integrity.
